Abstract:
Provided are the following: a vehicular interior component in which an end of a covering material that covers a core material main body is appropriately processed to have outstanding appearance; and a method for manufacturing the vehicular interior component. A core material main body (30), the surface of which is covered by a covering material (40), is provided with the following: a gap section (39) formed at the boundary between a first edge section (31a1) of a first core material (31) and a first edge section (32a1) of a second core material (32); and ribs (37,38) that are erected on the first core material (31) and the second core material (32) and that stand in the interior of the core material main body (30). An end (40b) of the covering material (40) is inserted from the gap section (39) into the interior of the core material main body (30) and is welded to the ribs (37, 38).
