Abstract:

Provided is a method for manufacturing a vehicular seat member, whereby a vehicular seat member having high dimensional precision can be obtained. A vehicular seat member (10), which is provided with a frame member (20) and a foamed resin molding (30) in which the frame member (20) is embedded, is manufactured. First, the frame member (20) is disposed in a molding die (7) so that the frame member (20) is disposed along the contour S of the vehicular seat member (10) as seen in a plan view of the vehicular seat member (10). Next, the foamed resin molding (30) is molded within the molding die (7), the foamed resin molding (30) including: a frame-shaped section (35) in which the frame member (20) is embedded, the frame-shaped section (35) forming the contour S of the vehicular seat member (10); and an extending section (36) that extends inward from the frame-shaped section (35) so as to span across the frame-shaped section (35) on the inner sides of the frame-shaped section (35). During this molding, a cutout (37A) is molded into the extending section (36) along a direction that intersects the extension direction L in which the extending section (36) extends, the cutout (37A) dividing the extending section (36).
