A ventilating device according to an embodiment is provided with a housing, a shutter case, a fan, and a shutter. The shutter case has an opening. The fan causes air in the housing to be exhausted out of the housing via the opening. The shutter divides the interior of the shutter case into a first chamber communicating with the opening and a second chamber separate from the first chamber, and opens and closes the opening through a pivoting operation. The fan is disposed on the first chamber side of the shutter case in the housing. The first chamber provides a positive-pressure region for the fan. The second chamber provides a negative-pressure region for the fan. The second chamber of the shutter case only communicates with the negative-pressure region in the housing. The shutter is provided such that a pressure received from the second chamber is smaller than a pressure received from the first chamber.
