Abstract:
In this vertical bearing device, a lubricating oil path 51 constituting a cooling section 26 is exposed to the outside from a casing 24. Lubricating oil that has absorbed heat generated in a thrust bearing section 23 and a journal bearing section 25 is cooled in the cooling section 26 when moving from an upper oil chamber 46 to a lower oil chamber 47 during circulation using gravity. As a result, cooling of the heat-generating thrust bearing section 23 and journal bearing section 25 is promoted by the circulating lubricating oil. In addition, the lubricating oil path 51 of the cooling section 26 is provided integrally with the casing 24 on the radially outward side of the casing 24. For this reason, long piping is not required in the cooling section 26.
