Abstract:
A crushing roll (10) used for a vertical rolling mill, configured in such a manner that the roll outer peripheral surface (12) which serves as the crushing surface is divided into a main crushing surface (12A, 22A, 32A) which mainly performs pulverization and a material transfer surface (12B, 12C, 22B, 32B) which is the crushing surface other than the main crushing surface (12A, 22A, 32A), the main crushing surface (12A) being formed as a smooth surface, the material transfer surface (12B, 12C, 22B, 32B) being formed as a surface in which slit grooves (11B) or screw grooves (11A, 21A, 31) are formed, the slit grooves (11B) being disposed at a right angle to the circumferential direction of the roll or tilted at an angle greater than 45˚ relative thereto, the screw grooves (11A, 21A, 31) being tilted at an angle less than or equal to 45˚ relative to the circumferential direction of the roll. The configuration enables highly efficient pulverization irrespective of the type of material and extends the service life of the mill roll.
