Title:
VERTICAL TAKE-OFF AND LANDING CRAFT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/158067
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of aircraft engineering and, more specifically, to vertical take-off and landing aircraft. The aircraft comprises a body having a round or elliptical shape with a convex upper surface and a flat lower surface with a downward projecting central part in which a cockpit with a control system and a propulsion section are located. The body is provided with four vertical annular through openings, in which four airscrews are mounted horizontally such as to be capable of rotating from a horizontal plane into a vertical plane. Two airscrews are mounted vertically at the front and rear of the body such as to be capable of rotating from a vertical plane into a horizontal plane. All of the airscrews have a collective pitch which can be varied either jointly or separately, and are caused to rotate by two engines via a transmission. The aircraft is equipped with a hydraulic system, an autopilot, an emergency parachute, a surveillance system, and gunpowder emergency engines. An increase in the manoeuvrability of the aircraft is achieved as well as a greater degree of flight safety.
