Abstract:
According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided are a vertical takeoff and landing aircraft using a hybrid propulsion system and a control method therefor, the aircraft comprising: a thrust propeller (81) for generating thrust in an aerial vehicle (1); a lift propeller (82) for generating lift in the aerial vehicle (1); an engine (10) which is installed in the aerial vehicle (1) and burns fuel to produce power; a clutch device (16) for transmitting the power of the engine (10) to the thrust propeller (81); a first power generator (20) that generates electrical power by means of the rotational force of the thrust propeller (81) when the thrust propeller (81) rotates as the aerial vehicle (1) descends or flies into a headwind; a second power generator (80) that generates electrical power by means of the rotational force of the lift propeller (82) when the lift propeller (82) rotates as the aerial vehicle (1) descends or flies into a headwind; a battery management system (60) in which the electricity generated from the first and second power generators (20, 80) is charged; and a control unit (90) that controls the first and second power generators (20, 80) to operate as motors when the aerial vehicle (1) ascends or flies with a tailwind.
