Abstract:
The present invention relates to a vertical-type apparatus for separating unburned carbon using static electricity, in which a pair of static-electricity-inducing plates shaped as a grid are arranged in the main body of the apparatus to which electricity is applied, and the static-electricity-inducing plates move in the upward, downward, left and right directions such that unburned carbon can be separated by triboelectricity when coal is supplied to the apparatus. The unburned-carbon-separating apparatus for separating unburned carbon from coal comprises: a hopper arranged at the top of the apparatus such that unburned coal can be fed into the hopper; a lime-ash-collecting container for collecting completely burned lime ash from among static-electricity-induced coal, and an unburned-carbon-collecting container, wherein the lime-ash-collecting container and the unburned-carbon-collecting container are arranged at the bottom of the apparatus; insulation-glass plates, which are fixed opposite each other at a frame which stands upright between the hopper and the collecting containers, and which contain respective electrode plates therein; a pair of static-electricity-inducing plates installed between the insulation-glass plates, and connected to the hopper and the collecting containers; and an apparatus for driving the static-electricity-inducing plates, which rotates the pair of static-electricity-inducing plates such that the static-electricity-inducing plates move in the upward, downward, left and right directions. As described above, the apparatus of the present invention has a simple structure in that the pair of grid-shaped static-electricity-inducing plates move in the main body of the apparatus to which electricity is applied, such that coal passes through the holes of the grid and unburned carbon can be separated by triboelectricity, thereby significantly reducing the cost of manufacturing the apparatus. The unit including the hopper, the collecting containers, the insulation glass plates, and the static-electricity-inducing plates and the apparatus for driving the static-electricity-inducing plates can be stacked in a vertical direction or connected in a horizontal direction to improve the efficiency of treating unburned carbon supplied to the apparatus.
