Abstract:
A vertically movable stand (3) for a display device (1) has a vertically movable member (8) provided between a guide member (6) which is affixed to a base member (2) and a support (7). A display support section (4) is attached to the vertically movable member (8). A guide ring having a guide protrusion is provided to the upper end opening of the guide member (6). A first friction section (15) is provided between the guide ring and the vertically movable member (8) provided with a guide groove with which the guide protrusion engages. A closed-end tube-shaped friction member (16) is affixed below the first friction section of the vertically movable member (8). Friction protrusions are respectively provided to contact sections on the peripheral surface of the friction member (16) and are made to be in elastic contact with the inner peripheral surface of the guide member (6) to form second friction sections (22). The friction force F1 of the first friction section is set to be less than the friction force F2 of the second friction sections.
