Abstract:
The present invention relates to a veterinary composition, containing rifaximin crystalline forms, for treating infectious enteritis of animals including ruminants, such as cattle, sheep, and goats, mammals such as pigs, and poultry. More specifically, the present invention relates to a veterinary composition for treating infectious enteritis of animals including ruminants, such as cattle, sheep, and goats, pigs, and poultry, the composition containing a rifaximin active ingredient, an excipient, a binder, and the like, wherein the rifaximin active ingredient contains rifaximin crystalline forms comprising 50 wt% or more of specific rifaximin pseudo-crystalline forms or rifaximin zeta (ζ) crystalline forms of the present invention out of polymorphism crystalline forms of rifaximin.
