Abstract:
A vibration actuator according to the present invention comprises a vibrating body 1 comprising an elastic body 2 and an electro-mechanical energy conversion element 3 joined to the elastic body 2, and a contact body 4 contacting the vibrating body 1, the vibrating body 1 and the contact body 4 moving relative to each other in a predetermined direction, wherein a vibration damping member 25 is provided on a predetermined surface of the contact body 4 that is different from the contact surface contacting the vibrating body 1. The vibration damping member 25 is composed of a viscoelastic body or by combining a viscoelastic body and a reinforcing member.
