Abstract:
Provided is a vibration control device that changes, using magnetic fluid deformation, the inertia moment of a subject to be subjected to vibration control, thereby suppressing or increasing vibration of the subject. The vibration control device is provided with: a container 4 to be attached to a subject 1 to be subjected to vibration control; a magnetic fluid 5, which is sealed in the container 4, and which is deformable so as to move the gravity center of the subject 1; an electromagnet 6, which is attached to the container 4, and which excites a magnetic field for deforming the magnetic fluid 5; a power supply unit 7 that controls a current flowing to the electromagnet 6; a sensor 11 that measures displacement and speed of the subject 1; and a control unit 8 that transmits a control signal to the power supply unit 7 on the basis of a measurement value obtained by the sensor 11.
