Abstract:
A vibration damping device (10) has a simple structure and is capable of being manufactured easily.
A vibration damping device (10) is provided with a cylindrical first mounting member (11), a second mounting member (12), an elastic body (13) which connects both the mounting members, and a partition member (16) which divides a liquid chamber into a first liquid chamber (14) and a second liquid chamber (15).
The partition member (16) is provided with swirl chambers (33a, 33b) which connect to one of the liquid chambers through flow regulation passages and connect to the other liquid chamber through connection holes (32a, 32b). The flow regulation passages extend from outer surfaces, which are exposed to the liquid chambers, to the swirl chambers so as to open to the swirl chambers and so as to be directed in the circumferential direction of the swirl chambers. The swirl chambers form swirls of liquid which flows into the swirl chambers from the flow regulation passages and cause the liquid to flow out of the connection holes.
