Abstract:
Provided is a vibration generator which includes: a first substrate; a first electrode that is arranged on the first substrate; a second substrate that is separate from the first substrate and is arranged facing the face of the first substrate where the first electrode is arranged; and a second electrode that is arranged on the second substrate so as to face the first electrode. Either the first electrode or second electrode includes a film that holds charge, and either the first substrate or second substrate is capable of vibration. During displacement of the vibration-capable substrate from the centre of vibration to the edge of the vibration, the area of overlap of the first electrode and second electrode reaches a minimum value and then increases to a maximum value, or alternatively the area of overlap reaches the maximum value and then decreases to the minimum value. The value of the electrostatic capacitance (Cp) that is formed between the first electrode and second electrode when the area of overlap reaches the maximum value changes while the vibration-capable substrate is displaced from the centre of vibration to the edge of the vibration. The change in the electrostatic capacitance (Cp) includes an increase in the electrostatic capacitance (Cp).
