Abstract:
A vibration sensor, or a navigation apparatus using it as a state detector, which includes a substrate (5), a flat vibration plate (3) for forming a capacitor, and means (2, 4, 6) for holding the vibration plate in such a manner that it is capable of moving in a plane parallel to the substrate, wherein the vibration plate includes a plurality of elastic displacement portions (3c, 3d) that allow the vibration portion of the vibration plate to move in a plane parallel to the substrate. When vibration acts on this vibration sensor, the vibration portion of the vibration plate vibrates and the capacitance between the substrate and the vibration plate changes depending on the vibration so that the vibration can be detected by this change. The flexible displacement portions serve to prevent the movements of the vibration plate due to a sound pressure, and the vibration detection output is not disturbed by the sound pressure.
