Abstract:
A video camera (10) comprises an imaging device (16). The imaging device (16) generates an image signal corresponding to the optical image formed on a light-receving surface. A monitor (34) displays a moving picture formed from the generated image signal. The amount of light falling on the imaging device (16) is controlled by a diaphragm (14) having aperture blades movable perpendicularly to the optical axis. The amount of movement of the aperture blades is limited to a predetermined value, and this limits the minimum value of the F-number. When a moving picture is displayed on the monitor (34), the setting of the F-number to the minimum value is unabled.
