Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to minimize filter coefficient generation coding volume of an applied interpolation filter. A video coding device which uses motion correction comprises: a motion detection unit which carries out a motion search and acquires a motion vector; an interpolation filter coefficient derivation unit which, using the motion vector, computes an interpolation filter coefficient which is used in decimal precision pixel interpolation; an interpolation unit which, using the interpolation filter coefficient and the motion vector, carries out the decimal precision pixel interpolation and implements coding; a parameter selection unit which selects, from among parameters which are used in entropy coding of the interpolation filter coefficient, a parameter with which the generated coding volume of the interpolation filter coefficient is smallest among a plurality of designated parameters; and a coding processing unit which codes the selected parameter and the computed interpolation filter coefficient and outputs the coded parameter and the coded interpolation filter coefficient.
