Abstract:
Provided are a method and a device for decoding a video in which, during video encoding and decoding processes, obtained is most probable (MPM) mode information which indicates whether or not MPM modes of a current block determined on the basis of two or more of a prediction mode of a left neighboring block adjacent to the left side of the current block, a prediction mode of an upper neighboring block adjacent to the upper side of the current block and a prediction mode of a right neighboring block adjacent to the right side of the current block are to be used, obtained is an extended intra mode set information indicating whether or not an extended intra mode set configured on the basis of the MPM modes is to be used, and an intra-prediction mode of the current block is determined on the basis of the MPM mode information and the extended intra mode set information.
