Abstract:
A video display device 10 comprises: a camera 11; a transmissive display panel 14 that is provided to a vehicle and has transmissivity; an identification unit 24 that identifies a range in a captured video to display on the transmissive display panel 14; an operation unit 15 that can be operated on a surface of the transmissive display panel 14; a recording control unit 22 that records the captured video on a recording unit 12; a playback control unit 27 that plays back the recorded video; and a display control unit 28 that displays, on the transmissive display panel 14, the video of the range identified by the identification unit 24 in the video which has been played back. When an operation has commenced, the playback control unit 27 displays on the transmissive display panel 14 a video from when the operation was commenced, and when the direction of operation is along the direction of advancement of the vehicle, the playback control unit 27 plays back the video recorded by the recording control unit 22 in the reverse direction from the video from when the operation was commenced.
