Abstract:
Provided is a video display device in which the luminance of a screen can be precisely adjusted even if a user takes time to set the brightness of the screen. This video display device including a back light (17) which can be locally dimmed, is provided with: an image quality adjusting unit (11) that corrects the illuminance of a video which is displayed; and a sample video reproducing unit (18) that reproduces a sample video which is displayed when a user sets a correction coefficient for use in the correction by the image quality adjusting unit (11), and in which the position of a high luminance region changes on a screen.
