Abstract:
It is possible to prevent start of the screen saver function during reproduction of a movie content of an HDD recorder by a video display device. The HDD recorder includes a content server which stores content information and video stream information containing a program of the script format for controlling the generation timing of the screen save screen.  The video display device includes: a script processing unit which acquires the content information from the content server and executes the program of the script format; and a stream processing unit which acquires the video stream information from the content server and decodes the information.  The script processing unit executes the program of the script format.  The script processing unit does not plot the screen saver screen of the screen saver processing unit during decoding of the video stream, and generates/displays the screen saver after completion of the decoding.
