Abstract:

A video doorphone for identifying a visitor who has carried out a call operation at the door of a house. The visibility by a person in the house and the crime preventablity at the call−answer are improved. When a visitor depresses a call button (11) of a doorphone child machine (1), the call detection circuit (31) of a living room parent machine (2) detects the call and actuates a signal generating circuit (32) to generate a call sound from a parent machine speaker (39). Thereby conversation through a set of a child machine microphone (16) and a child machine speaker (17) of the doorphone child machine and a set of a parent microphone (38) and a parent machine speaker of the living room parent machine (2) is enabled. The living room parent machine has a message sending circuit (34) that is actuated when the call detecting circuit detects the call and gives through the child machine speaker a message stored in a message storage circuit (33) where predetermined messages are stored, thereby displaying the video shot by a camera (13) of the doorphone child machine on a video monitor (36) of the living room parent machine.
