In a video editor, a recording and reproducing section is arranged below a control panel, and the recording medium loading/unloading space of the recording and reproducing section is arranged on the outside of the control panel. The video editor can be provided with a reproducing means which controls the reproduction of a recording and reproducing device integral with camera and an editing means which receives reproduced video data and records the video data on a recording medium along with edition. Alternatively, the editor can be provided with a shuttle control means and a resetting means which resets a shuttle mode without changing the operating position of the shuttle control means. More alternatively, the editor can be provided with a display section, a control panel, a recording and/or reproducing section, a battery mounting section, and a battery which can be mounted to and dismounted from the battery mounting section.
