Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a video generation device for generating composite video with which the relationship between video and a navigation location of a floating mobile object can be intuitively understood. [Solution] A video generation device 1 is provided with an orientation acquisition unit 16, an advancement-route acquisition unit 17a, an advancement-route display data generation unit 22b, and a data compositing unit 25, and performs the following video generation method. The orientation acquisition unit 16 acquires orientation information indicating the orientation of a camera 3 or of a host vessel where the camera 3 is installed. The advancement-route acquisition unit 17a acquires a route of advance of the host vessel on the basis of a detection result for the location and/or orientation of the own vessel. The advancement-route display data generation unit 22b generates advancement-route display data on the basis of the attitude information and the route of advance. The data compositing unit 25 generates composite video obtained by compositing the advancement-route display data and video outputted by the camera 3.
