Abstract:

Disclosed is a video image encoding method. This method includes: a step (S16) for generating a prediction signal that predicts the signal to be encoded using another signal to be encoded that was encoded before the current signal to be encoded; a quantization step (S12) for generating a quantization coefficient by quantizing the prediction error obtained by subtracting the prediction signal from the current signal to be encoded; an inverse quantization step (S13) for generating a quantization prediction error signal by inverse quantization of the quantization coefficient; a filter information generating step (S14) for generating, from the prediction signal and quantization prediction error signal, first filter information using the statistical characteristics of the prediction signal only, and for generating second filter information using the statistical characteristics of the quantization prediction error signal only; and an entropy encoding step (S15) for generating an encoded signal by entropy encoding of the quantization coefficient generated in the quantization step, and the first and second filter information generated in the filter information generating step.
