Abstract:
Video speed change can be reliably perceived when playback speed is switched in special playback. When a request to switch the playback speed is received (S101), the next output image frame at the playback speed after switching is specified. It is then determined whether or not the speed change due to switching is perceived in the video, by means of a comparison process using the position or time of the next output image frame (S102). If it is determined that the change is not perceived, the next output image frame is specified again in such a way that the speed change due to switching is perceived in the video (S103). The next output image frame which is determined is output (S104).
