Abstract:
Provided are a video playing method and apparatus, and an electronic device. The method comprises: acquiring a video frame to be played; inputting the video frame to be played into a pre-set decoder, and decoding the video frame to be played by means of the pre-set decoder to obtain a decoded video frame to be played; taking the obtained decoded video frame to be played as texture data and storing same in a texture storage region of a graphics processing unit; determining a decoded video frame to be played, which satisfies a rendering condition, from among decoded video frames to be played stored in the texture storage region and taking same as a video frame to be rendered; and rendering the determined video frame to be rendered by means of the graphics processing unit, and playing same. By means of the embodiments of the present application, the increase of the rendering speed of a graphics processing unit (GPU) can be realized to some extent, and the video playing performance of an electronic device is further improved.
