A video production method and apparatus, a storage medium and a computer device. The method comprises: receiving a follow-photography instruction while reference video content is played on a video playing interface, wherein the follow-photography instruction comprises a reference video identifier; displaying a first video display area and a second video display area on a screen of a terminal; playing the reference video content in the first video display area, and recording, in the second video display area, the displayed real-time video content; and generating a target video based on the recorded real-time video content and the reference video content. By means of displaying a first video display area and a second video display area on a screen of a terminal, playing reference video content in the first video display area, and recording, in the second video display area, the displayed real-time video content, when recording a video, a user can perform with reference to the reference video content, so as to lower the user's difficulty in referring to a recording, so that user stickiness can be improved.
