Abstract:
In a video reception method for a video reception apparatus provided with a display unit, according to the present invention: a reception signal in which video data and audio data are multiplexed is received; a transfer characteristic acquired by demultiplexing the reception signal is output as first transfer characteristic information; a transfer characteristic acquired by decoding the video data is output as second transfer characteristic information, the second transfer characteristic information being information for specifying, with frame accuracy, a transfer function corresponding to a brightness dynamic range of the video data; and the video data are displayed while a brightness dynamic range of the display unit is being controlled with frame accuracy in accordance with the second transfer characteristic information.
