Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to more precisely display a program image corresponding to a thumbnail image by means of simple processing in configurations which record streams containing one or more programs divided into multiple packets. The video recording device (10) according to the present invention is provided with: a thumbnail creation unit (18) for creating thumbnail images from a program contained in the stream; a PTS value extraction unit (13) for acquiring timing information from the stream, said timing information indicating the timing at which a program image corresponding to a thumbnail image should be displayed; a thumbnail map creation unit (19) for creating and saving a thumbnail map that indicates the correspondence relationship between thumbnail images and timing information; and a playback process unit (21) for performing a process for displaying the program image that corresponds to a specified thumbnail image on the basis of the thumbnail map.
