Abstract:
Provided is a video reproduction method with which there is little difference between the target speed and the actual speed when fast forward or fast rewind reproduction is performed in reproduction units in which a plurality of video units are linked for example. A video reproduction method which performs fast forward or fast rewind reproduction, wherein, in order to carry out fast forward reproduction when video units are switched, the difference between the reproduction time of the last displayed image in the video unit prior to switching and the end time of that video unit is calculated as an elapsed jump time (S104), the value produced by subtracting the elapsed jump time calculated in the elapsed-jump-time calculation step from a jump time corresponding to a specified speed is calculated as a remaining jump time (S105), the time produced by adding the remaining jump time calculated in the remaining-jump-time calculation step to the start time of the following video unit is calculated as a reproduction start time (S106), and a video is reproduced from the reproduction start time.
