Abstract:
A video stream receiving apparatus wherein even if it is arranged that a received
video stream be transferred not via CPU but directly to a video decoder, the reception
rate of the video stream can be determined with reliability. A video stream receiving
apparatus comprises a receiving part (11) that receives an IP packet via a communication
network; a header analyzing part (13) that determines whether a TS packet (31),
which constitutes the video stream, is included in the payload of the IP packet;
a selector part (14) that outputs the IP packet to the outside of the video stream
receiving apparatus when it is determined that no video stream is included in
the IP packet, while passing the IP packet when it is determined that the video
stream is included in the IP packet; a TS counter (19) that determines the reception
rate of the TS packet (31) included in the passed IP packet; etc.
