Abstract:
This technology relates to a video switching device, a video switching method, a program, and an information processing device, with which video data can be efficiently transmitted, within a bandwidth range capable of being used by a network, while inhibiting data loss and deterioration in image quality. This video switcher is provided with: a receiver which receives, over a network, within a prescribed bandwidth range, video data from a plurality of video output devices; a transmitter which selects at least one piece of video data from among the received video data, and transmits the at least one piece of video data to a video processing device; a selection unit which dynamically sets a priority level for each of the pieces of video data, and selects the video data to be received; and a controller which controls the transmission and reception of the video data. In cases when the bandwidth required to receive new video data is insufficient, the selection unit selects, on the basis of the priority level, video data which will stop being received from among the video data currently being received, and the controller implements control such that reception of the selected video data is stopped, and reception of the new video data is started. This technology is applicable to video switchers or the like.
