In response to a call from a doorphone, call is performed for a plurality of terminals connected to a network so that response can be performed from any of the terminals. The video telephone interphone (200) is connected to doorphones (100, 110), and a monitoring camera (125) as well as connected to video telephone terminals (410, 420, 430) via a domestic LAN (300) and further connected to a mobile telephone (810) via an Internet connection device (600). The video telephone interphone includes a doorphone switching unit (210), multiplexing/demultiplexing unit (220), a video telephone codec (230), a communication interface (240), a call detection unit (250), and a communication control unit (260). When a call from the doorphone is detected, call destinations registered in the call destination data (262) are simultaneously called, a still image which has captured video upon call is transmitted and connection is made with a terminal which reports to respond firstly. Moreover, it is possible to arrange an MCU and set a doorphone conference.
