Abstract:

The present invention provides a viewing object retention device which is capable of consistently positioning an object to be viewed in an optimal viewing location irrespective of the orientation of the body of a prone viewer, and which also permits adjusting the angle of the object to be viewed so as to accord with the orientation of the face of the viewer. This viewing object retention device (11) comprises: a fixed base part (12); an arm part (13), one end part whereof is rotatably linked to the base part (12), the other end part extending along an axis from said linkage toward a space above a viewer (A); a viewing object retention part (16) which is located at the other end part of the arm unit (13) and retains an object to be viewed (14); and a revolving mechanism (15) which causes angular displacement of the viewing object retention part (16) with respect to the axis commensurate with the rotation of the arm part (13), treating the linkage as a fulcrum thereof.
