Abstract:

Disclosed is a vinyl acetate resin emulsion containing no VOC component which is capable of forming a cured product having good transparency without including a plasticizer. Specifically disclosed is a vinyl acetate resin emulsion which is obtained by seed polymerization of a monomer component containing at least vinyl acetate in an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin emulsion. Such a vinyl acetate resin emulsion is characterized in that the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin emulsion is prepared by using less than 3 parts by mass of a dispersing agent relative to 100 parts by mass of a dispersoid which dispersing agent contains a vinyl alcohol polymer which has not less than 1.9 mol% of a unit represented by the formula (1) below relative to the total vinyl alcohol units in the polymer chain after being saponified to have a saponification degree of not less than 99 mol%.
