Abstract:
The present invention provides a vinyl alcohol-based copolymer, a method for preparing same and a gas barrier film comprising same, the vinyl alcohol-based copolymer comprising: an olefin-derived first repeat unit; a hydroxyl group-containing second repeat unit; and a cyanoalkyloxy group-containing third repeat unit formed by a reaction between the hydroxyl group-containing repeat unit and an unsaturated nitrile-based compound, wherein, with respect to the 100 mol% total sum of second repeat unit and the third repeat unit, the third repeat unit content is at least 2 mol% and less than 10 mol%. The vinyl alcohol-based copolymer has excellent moisture stability, and thus may exhibit excellent gas barrier properties even in a high humidity environment.
