Abstract:
Provided are a vinyl chloride resin latex which froths little when unreacted monomers remaining therein are recovered with heating under reduced-pressure conditions, and a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet which has satisfactory water resistance, does not yellow during storage, and gives an image having excellent durability and light resistance. The vinyl chloride resin latex contains a copolymer which comprises units of vinyl chloride and an epoxidized vinyl compound or comprises units of vinyl chloride, an epoxidized vinyl compound, and a vinyl carboxylate and which has a content of the epoxidized vinyl compound of 0.1 wt.% or higher but less than 3 wt.%, the latex being characterized by containing no surfactant and having a solid concentration of 25 wt.% or higher. Also provided are a process for producing the latex and a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet obtained using the latex.
