Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of developing a composition having antiviral activity by utilizing the immunological action of intestinal bacteria as well as the action thereof against infection with viruses including influenza virus and SARS-CoV-2 virus. As the results of intensive studies, the present inventors have found that animals administered with a bile acid receptor agonist show significantly enhanced resistance to viral infection, thereby completing the present invention. More specifically, the present inventors have shown that the aforesaid problem can be solved by providing a composition having antiviral activity, said composition containing the bile acid receptor agonist.
