Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a virtual expression generation method and apparatus, and an electronic device and a storage medium. The method comprises: acquiring a facial area in an original image, so as to obtain a target facial image; acquiring a first facial coefficient corresponding to the target facial image; performing time-domain correction processing on a template expression coefficient and/or a pose coefficient in the first facial coefficient, so as to obtain a target facial coefficient; and rendering an expression of a virtual character according to the target facial coefficient, so as to obtain a virtual expression. In the present embodiment, time-domain correction processing is performed on a first facial coefficient, such that expressions in adjacent original images in a video have correlation and continuity, and a reconstructed expression is thus more natural, thereby improving the watching experience; and a target facial coefficient is transmitted instead of image data to render an expression of a virtual character, so as to obtain a virtual expression, such that the data transmission amount can be reduced, and an effect of reconstructing the virtual expression in real time is achieved.
