Abstract:
A headup display (2) makes an observer visually recognize an image as a virtual image (Iv), said image having been optically reflected by means of a combiner (5), and the headup display has a main body section (4) and an attaching section (9). The main body section (4) has a light source (54), which is a projection section that projects the image. The attaching section (9) is configured such that the attaching section can be attached to a sun visor (29) that is provided to a vehicle (Ve). A joint member (15) has a rotating shaft (57) that rotatably joints the main body section (4) to the attaching section (9). A damper (16) reduces vibration of the main body section (4), said vibration being in the rotating direction of the rotating shaft (57). When the rotating shaft (57) of the joint member (15) is attached to the sun visor (29) by means of the attaching section (9), the rotating shaft is substantially parallel to a sun visor supporting shaft (80) that supports the sun visor (29) such that the sun visor can rotate in the direction in which the sun visor opens/closes with respect to a windshield (25).
