Abstract:
A virtual image display device 10 is provided with: an image projection unit 12 which selectively projects, toward a windshield, first projection light 52s linearly polarized in a first direction and second projection light 52p linearly polarized in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction; an imaging control unit which causes an imaging device 11 to capture a first image including the face of a user when the first projection light 52a is projected, and causes the imaging device 11 to capture a second image including the face of the user when the second projection light 52p is projected; and an image processing unit which, on the basis of the first image and the second image, determines whether or not the user is wearing polarized sunglasses for blocking a linearly polarized light component in the first direction.
