Abstract:
This virtual image display device (10) is provided with: a projection member (13) that projects an image; and a projection optical system (11, 12) that forms a virtual image (40). The virtual image distance (VID) from an observer (30) to the virtual image (40) is at least 2,500 mm. The projection optical system (11, 12) has one or more reflective members (11, 12). A reflective surface of the final reflective member (11), which is included in the one or more reflective members (11, 12) and is the last to reflect light, satisfies the following condition (1). 10° ≤ |θzmax-θzmin| ≤ 30°…(1) Here, θz is the angle formed by a normal vector perpendicular to a tangential plane passing through the origin of the final reflective member (11) and a normal vector of a tangential plane at an arbitrary point, θzmax is the maximum value of θz, and θzmin is the minimum value of θz. Thus, there is provided a virtual image display device (10) which has a small size and suppresses an increase in the temperature of the members due to the focusing of external light.
