Abstract:
To establish a specific relation between the owner and a virtual pet to enable the owner to feel that the virtual is a real pet. A speech inputted through a microphone (22) is recognized by a recognizing unit (20) and the speaking person is identified referring to a speaking person database (12). Predetermined phrases and words are registered in the database (12), and events corresponding to the phrases and words are stored in an event list (31). If the phrase or word uttered by the speaking person fulfills an even occurrence condition, an event (the pet calls or waggles its tail) corresponding to the recognized phrase or word is executed.
