Title:
VIRTUAL SPACE POSITION DESIGNATION METHOD, PROGRAM, RECORDING MEDIUM HAVING PROGRAM RECORDED THEREON, AND DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/199736
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Considering that in a method in which a gaze point is determined on the basis of an actual line of sight and a cursor or pointer is displayed at that location to designate a position in a virtual space, the normal line of sight is in a slightly overlooking direction, there has been a problem in that it is not very easy to designate a position on an object such as the top surface or bottom surface of an object, the apparent area of which is not necessarily large when viewed from an operator side. According to the present invention, a virtual line of sight for designating an object to be operated is configured to issue not from the position of an operator's eye in the virtual space but from a position that is separated by a given first distance in the vertical direction from the position of the eye, and an angle α is provided in the vertical direction between the virtual line of sight and the actual line of sight such that the virtual line of sight intersects, at a position that is separated by a given second distance in the horizontal direction, with the actual line of sight from the position of the operator's eye.
