Abstract:
For multiple virtual volumes, multiple types of memory devices with different properties are allocated according to the requirements of each virtual volume. If, amongst the virtual volumes with the stipulated response times, the number of pages that should be allocated to SSD (70) are insufficient and the Tier boundary volume β is adjusted to β', then, in the case that there are devices that do not satisfy the requirements, when there are no unallocated pages, as pages that allocate SSD (70), the Tier boundary values γ and α, for other virtual volumes, are adjusted to γ' and α' and pages for allocation are guaranteed, as shortfall pages, to the virtual volumes that have adjusted tier boundary values.
