Title:
VIRUS PARTICLE-LIKE STRUCTURE AND PHARMACEUTICAL PREPARATION COMPRISING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/116808
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A virus particle-like structure including a metal and/or a metal compound favorable for diagnosis and treatment on a cell level is provided by incorporating a metal or metal compound, useful, for example, for image diagnosis, anagenesis or hyperthermia treatment, in a virus-like particle structure. There is also provided a most suitable method for forming the structure. The virus particle-like structure has a substantially even size and comprises a virus protein and a fine particle containing at least one of a metal and metal compound as a filling material. Preferably, the fine particle has a positive or negative charge as a surface charge and is composed mainly of iron, iron oxide, or ferrite. The virus protein is preferably at least one protein derived from SV40 virus, JCV virus and BKV virus and/or a mutation or modification product thereof.
