Abstract:
A viscous coupling (10) has a case body (12) for forming an operation chamber (16) for containing viscous fluid, a shaft (20) inserted through the case body (12) so as to be rotatable relative to the case body, inner plates (30) connected to the shaft (20), and outer plates (50) connected to the case body (12) and arranged in the operation chamber (16) such that the inner plates (30) and the outer plates (50) are spaced from each other in the axis direction of the shaft (20). The viscous coupling (10) is adapted such that the distance between the inner plates (30) and the outer plates (50) can be adjusted by deforming either the inner plates (30) or the outer plates (50) according to the rotational speed of the shaft (20) or the case body (12).
