Abstract:
Disclosed is a viscous substance dilution apparatus which can spread a viscous substance to increase the surface area of the viscous substance and therefore can advantageously dilute the viscous substance with a diluent with high efficiency. The apparatus comprises: a base (1) which is equipped with a treatment chamber (16) to which the viscous substance and a diluent for diluting the viscous substance are to be supplied; a surface element (2) which has a coating surface (21) onto which the viscous substance supplied to the treatment chamber (16) in the base (1) is to be adhered; and a movable member (31) and a coating element (3) both of which can move along the coating surface (21) in the surface element (2). The coating element (3) is attached to the movable member (31) so as to mechanically spread the viscous substance, which has been adhered to the coating surface (21) in the surface element (2), on the coating surface (21) in the surface element (2) in conjunction with the movement of the movable member (31), thereby increasing the surface area of the viscous substance.
