Abstract:
This visible light modulation element (1000) is provided with: a light source unit (100) which comprises a plurality of optical semiconductor elements (30-1, 30-2, 30-3) each emit light that has a visible light wavelength of 400 nm to 700 nm; and a light modulation output unit (200) which comprises three Mach-Zehnder optical waveguides (10-1, 10-2, 10-3) corresponding to the three optical semiconductor elements (30-1, 30-2, 30-3), the Mach-Zehnder optical waveguides being obtained by processing a lithium niobate film into a convex shape so as to have the light emitted from the optical semiconductor elements (30-1, 30-2, 30-3) respectively incident thereon.
